Severin (30) is a German director based in Berlin whose work is shaped by his background in philosophy and music. Drawing from philosophy, he approaches filmmaking as a way to explore questions that drive him – questions about human connection, purpose, and the stories we tell ourselves. He’s particularly drawn to the intersection of sports and social issues, where physical expression meets deeper human themes.

As a musician, he brings a composer’s sensibility to his films, crafting soundscapes that don’t just accompany but elevate the visual narrative. He often creates original music for his projects, ensuring sound and image work together.

His guiding principle: “Keine Geschichte ohne Gefühle, keine Gefühle ohne Geschichte”

- a story must evoke emotions, and emotions must have a story.
